This DeLonghi ice cream maker trims away the labor-intensive elements of making ice cream at home. The unit features a double bowl construction--hard anodized aluminum inside 18/10 stainless steel--so you can make one batch after the other or store a single batch in the freezer. It has a 1-1/2-quart capacity and takes from 20 to 40 minutes to make a batch. DeLonghi’s patented double paddle keeps temperature consistent throughout the bowl and thoroughly mixes ingredients. When the ice cream has reached a finished consistency, the dasher rotation reverses direction. The machine also has separate chilling and mixing controls, so you can continue to chill ice cream to your desired temperature. A clear lid lets you monitor the progress of your dessert and easily add ingredients like chocolate chips, berries, or nuts. One of the best detail features of this maker is its removable digital timer--just put it in your pocket and you can be in any part of the house or yard while the ice cream does its thing. DeLonghi also includes a handful of starter recipes for ice cream and gelato. Relatively compact for an appliance of this type, the unit measures 13-1/2 by 9-1/2 by 10-1/4 inches.
